This week I regret to inform that the homestudy is a stand still. As part of the homestudy, there were medical evaluations required for Brandon and I but due to a contract dispute at a laboratory in Ohio (long story) our homestudy is on hold. Once the medical evaluations are done it will take about 3 to 4 weeks for the homestudy to be finalized. At that point we can tell Vitaliy that we are adopting him. We were hoping that we’d be able to tell him in December but with the holidays we are doubting that this will happen. We are not discouraged for we understand that God’s timing is perfect and his plans are straight. We are just having our first setback of what we were hoping would be the plan.
Now for the good news and there is always good news when you are a child of God! Last week our dear friend Heather Pelczar once again stayed at our house all day on her feet cutting hair for our adoption fund. We raised $458! Along with some other generous donations we have now raised 30% of our total costs. We are so thankful for the blessings of others as they pour out their love for us.
We haven’t heard anything from him in awhile but we are praying he is well. We still write to him each week and pray that this gives him hope for a future. As you pray please join us with a few specific prayer requests:
1. That Vitaliy’s heart is being prepared for a forever family and that our hearts are prepared to bring him into our lives.
2. That God will provide for 50% of the total costs of the adoption to be donated by 2012. To achieve this we would need an additional $8,000 by the New Year.
3. That the missionary Natalya who translates and delivers our letters to Vitaliy would be strengthed and encouraged to continue her much valued service for the Lord.
4. For us to have clear wisdom on when we should visit Ukraine to meet Vitaliy for the first time face to face.
Thank you for taking the time to read, pray, and journey with us. We feel your prayers, love, and support.
